voice thread

This is my favorite tool that we have been shown throughout the class. I wish we had learned about it earlier before the wiki and had a chance to play around with it. It just seems more useful and interactive, you can actually talk to each other while looking at the same thing at the same time.

PPT

Our PPT is going good, we are almost done. We have a good outline for what we want to put on the slides but it is difficult working on it when the group is not together. We have chosen the topic " using laptops in the classroom." To be honest I have only physically met one of my partner's but as for him he is a good partner and reliable.

Week 5-Personality

ENFJ- The Giver

I think that a person's personality type has everything to do with their learning style. Each personality type is going to take in information differently and is going to study and retain that information differently as well. Knowing my students personality type will really help me as a teacher figure out how a certain student learns. Also, I think it will also help the students discover a little more about themselves and maybe help them succeed in their ways of studying.

Week 4-Excel

Spreadsheets are a good way to be organized. Personally, I like them because they are a good way to display calculations, data, and graphs/charts. This actually is really good if used in the classroom for the students and the teacher. The teacher can use it for the gradebook and utilize it in the classroom for the students homework or in class assignment.

Most importantly, teachers use spreadsheets to record their grades from their students. They also can use it by creating charts for instruction or analyze types of data for in the classroom. Spreadsheets are really good for number crunching and allows mathematical formulas to be applied. It is a large, complex calculator that can calculate complex mathematics that need to be carried out on large amounts of numerical data. Spreadsheets are good for storing, calculating, and presenting information.

Week 3

Most students are visual learners and using Inspiration is a great tool. It is good for students to use Inspiration for homework assignments and to be a little more involved in their school work. I would definitely use this in my classroom because it would also be great to use inside the classroom for example, display Inspiration on a projector through a computer. the whole class could be involved and use the diagram or outline, etc. on whatever is being taught and the whole class could get into it.

well to go back to Inspiration, it is one use of technology that can be useful in writing. when students are taught to write papers they are first taught to plot out what they are going to write about. I know in my high school we were taught to create a spider web in order to get ideas. Inspiration is great for that, also it is good for outlines and from outlines a students can begin to write their paper.

Chapter 6

Blogs are a good source in order to communicate to other people all over the world. Like the video said it is a way to spread the news, to let people know what is going on and give them a way to respond and give their own opinions. For education purposes, blogs can connect students together so that they can be able to discuss and/or ask for help for a certain subject. However, students should not be the only one involved, the teacher should be just as involved in order to help communicated with their students more and be available to them without actually having to be in a classroom. Personally, i think using blogs directly in the classroom is a waste of time because since they are in the classroom then they should take that time wisely rather than on a blog. Blogging should be left for homework or an out of school activity because it could help assist students in finding out more information for their homework.

A knowledge forum is a great way to get students involved in not only their curriculum but in technology as well. Instead of just sitting in a classroom taking notes, the forum lets a teacher and students interact with each other by providing notes and then the students be given a chance to respond and do an activity with each other.
