Blogs are a good source in order to communicate to other people all over the world. Like the video said it is a way to spread the news, to let people know what is going on and give them a way to respond and give their own opinions. For education purposes, blogs can connect students together so that they can be able to discuss and/or ask for help for a certain subject. However, students should not be the only one involved, the teacher should be just as involved in order to help communicated with their students more and be available to them without actually having to be in a classroom. Personally, i think using blogs directly in the classroom is a waste of time because since they are in the classroom then they should take that time wisely rather than on a blog. Blogging should be left for homework or an out of school activity because it could help assist students in finding out more information for their homework.
A knowledge forum is a great way to get students involved in not only their curriculum but in technology as well. Instead of just sitting in a classroom taking notes, the forum lets a teacher and students interact with each other by providing notes and then the students be given a chance to respond and do an activity with each other.

Jennifer, I totally agree with you. I guess we're just old-fashoned that way. Another thing that I was thinking is imagine the time as the teacher it would take to go into and read 150 different blogs... yikes!
ReplyDeleteI got to agree with you to. You said what i was tying to say, only better. Blogs can be great for a class, but not during class time.
